The City of Cedar Rapids offers several incentives that can reduce your stormwater utility fee!  Residents of Cedar Rapids are eligible to participate in the City’s Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) Cost-Share Program. The program provides property owners financial and technical assistance to implement BMPs, improving water quality and reducing stormwater runoff quantity. Financial assistance is available to help cover the cost of materials and/or contractor labor for the projects. Projects can range from rain gardens and bio-retention cells to previous pavement and soil quality restoration.

You can save money on your stormwater utility fee by implementing BMPs. You can receive financial assistance to implement BMPs through our Cost-Share Program. The City provides up to 50 percent reimbursement for qualifying BMPs project costs. Such infiltration practices can reduce your stormwater utility fee by up to 40 percent.
